Thomas Nyarko Ampem, the Deputy Finance Minister-designate, has expressed his strong commitment to supporting the finance ministry and its revenue collection agencies in leveraging technology to enhance the country’s revenue mobilization efforts.

Thomas Nyarko Ampem, the Deputy Finance Minister-designate, has expressed his strong commitment to supporting the finance ministry and its revenue collection agencies in leveraging technology to enhance the country’s revenue mobilization efforts.

During a session with the Appointments Committee of Parliament on February 24, 2025, Mr. Nyarko Ampem highlighted the crucial role of technological advancements in funding government operations. He stressed the need for an aggressive approach to revenue mobilization.

“Leveraging technology is essential for improving efficiency in public finance management,” he stated. “I will collaborate with my minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to harness technology and increase our revenue.”

Mr. Nyarko Ampem praised the experienced officials at the GRA and emphasized that with the right leadership and incentives, they can significantly boost revenue collection. “Without technology, achieving our targets will be challenging,” he added.

The MP for the Asuogyaman Constituency also underlined the importance of continuity in governance. “We will build on previous efforts. Government is a continuous process, and we will utilize the existing infrastructure to improve our systems. Our focus will be on aggressively pursuing revenue generation while also constraining expenditures,” he assured the committee.
