Vine Christian High School Wins 2024 Pan-African Robotics Competition

Vine Christian High School (VCHS) in Accra has clinched the top prize at the Pan-African Robotics Competition, held on July 28, 2024, in Dakar, Senegal.

This prestigious event, which gathers the best high school robotics teams from across Africa, saw VCHS take first place with its standout design and stellar performance. Competing against about 400 young minds from 14 African nations including Mali, Uganda, and Nigeria—VCHS impressed the judges with their innovative approach and teamwork.

The competition challenges teams to design, build, and program robots to tackle complex tasks, and the VCHS team, as well as the Ghana Robotics Competition 2023 Champions, rose to the occasion. Their success reflects their exceptional skill and dedication.

Triumph Tetteh, Head of the Coding and Robotics Department at VCHS, expressed immense pride in the team’s achievement. “Our students have invested countless hours of hard work and creativity to reach this milestone,” he said. “This win is a testament to their passion and commitment to robotics.”

The VCHS team, comprising Alexine Seiba Amoako-Mensah, Zachary Opoku, Joshua Sunkwa-Mills, and Joshua-Caleb Dadzie leveraged their diverse skills and strategic thinking to secure their victory.

“This achievement underscores Vine Christian High School’s growing excellence in STEAM education and our dedication to fostering young innovators,” Mr. Tetteh added.
