The Twifo Praso Police are actively pursuing two girls, aged eight and 15, who allegedly stole GH¢41,000 and some gold on Wednesday from a gold buyer’s shop in Twifo Praso, located in the Twifo-Atti Morkwa District of the Central Region.
The motivation behind the girls’ crime remains unknown, leaving the community in shock and disbelief.
The shop owner, Mr. Enoch Boateng, mentioned that the two girls, unfamiliar faces in the town, entered his shop seeking help buying gold.
While he was briefly distracted, the girls grabbed the money and some gold before making a swift getaway.
In an interview, the distressed shop owner told the Ghana News Agency that he detected the theft some hours after the girls had left.
He expressed his distress over losing all his capital and urged the police to exhaust every effort in apprehending the girls.
