President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced today that Turkiye aims to elevate its trade volume with Malaysia to US$10 billion annually, underscoring the strong economic ties between the two nations.
Speaking on Turkiye-Malaysia trade relations, Erdogan revealed that trade between the two countries had already surpassed US$5 billion in 2024, aligning with their initial targets.
“We aim to increase our trade up to US$10 billion in a balanced way,” he stated, highlighting key sectors for collaboration, including semiconductors, automotive, aircraft technologies, and civil simulators.
Erdogan also emphasized the strategic geographical importance of both nations, with Turkiye serving as a gateway to Europe and Malaysia to Asia. He sees this as a strong foundation for further cooperation.
Additionally, the Turkish President praised the role of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad, which operates Turkiye’s second-largest airport, calling their partnership in aviation highly valuable.
With this ambitious vision, both countries look forward to strengthening economic ties and expanding cooperation across multiple industries.
