President John Dramani Mahama has granted Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi, the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, the early retirement request effective February 28, 2025. Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced a press release on February 7.
According to the press release, President John Dramani Mahama has accepted Mrs. Elsie Addo Awadzi’s decision to retire early from the Bank, effective February 28, 2025.
The President expressed his heartfelt appreciation for Mrs. Awadzi’s contributions to the Bank and the Republic and wished her success in her future endeavors.
Mrs. Awadzi’s decision follows Dr. Ernest Addison, the bank’s former Governor, going on terminal leave, with Dr. Johnson Asiama stepping in as his successor.
