President Mahama removes SEC Director-General from office

President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh from his role as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The announcement came via an official letter signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President.

Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh has been directed to transfer his responsibilities to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who will be the Acting Director-General of the SEC.

While the letter did not detail the reasons for the dismissal, the Commission is anticipated to maintain stability in Ghana’s capital markets under Dr. Avedzi’s new leadership.
