A Teenage boy drowns while trying to save brother in Bachok

A tragic incident occurred at the Kampung Kubang Telaga irrigation canal in Bachok yesterday, where a teenage boy drowned, and his younger brother is still missing.

As reported by Malaymail, Bachok Fire and Rescue Station Operation Commander Mohd Zamizi Muhamad announced that the Water Rescue Team (PPDA) of the Fire and Rescue Department recovered the body of 17-year-old Muhamad Amirul Mukminin Zehan at 8:25 pm.

His 13-year-old brother, Muhammad Asadullah Zehan, remains missing, and the search continues.

Mohd Zamizi reported that the fire department received an emergency call through the MERS 999 system at 6:36 p.m., and rescuers were dispatched to the scene.

“It is believed that the incident occurred when Muhammad Asadullah fell into the irrigation canal. His brother, Muhamad Amirul Mukminin, jumped in to rescue him but drowned in the incident,” he said
