Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale considers performing with Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel as significant as winning a Grammy, arguably the highest honor in the music industry.
Upon his return from Jamaica, Shatta Wale said in an interview with JoyNews, “The experience has been incredible; it’s a dream realized for Shatta Movement fans. Everyone knows my path as a dancehall artist, and sharing the stage with Vybz Kartel fulfills a lifelong dream.”
Reflecting on the significance of his appearance at the Freedom Street concert, Shatta Wale commented, “For me, Vybz Kartel’s endorsement is as monumental as winning a Grammy. Vybz is a worldwide icon, adored by many, and having his support and sharing the stage with him is my proudest accomplishment.”
Shatta Wale was the sole Ghanaian performer at the highly publicized Freedom Street concert, headlined by Jamaican dancehall legend Vybz Kartel.
