Malaysia PM Anwar Engages UK Investors: Boosting Johor-Singapore SEZ Synergy

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim held one-on-one business meetings with several leading companies during his visit to the United Kingdom yesterday.

Among the meetings held, one featured Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and was led by its chief executive officer, Bill Winters.

Malaysian officials report that SCB is discussing with the Malaysian and Singaporean governments to support global businesses entering the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Anwar also met officials from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), Raw Energy, and Yondr, which have ongoing projects at Sedenak Tech Park, Johor.

Attending the event were Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Minister of Higher Education Datuk Seri Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, and Minister of Plantation and Commodities Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

Before this, the prime minister participated in a roundtable meeting with industry leaders in the United Kingdom, accompanied by 53 top industry figures from 30 companies and organizations.
